It’s time for the third iteration of the world’s favourite tablet, the iPad 3 release date which is likely to be around a year after the iPad 2, that is in March or thereabouts.. According to Jeremy Horwitz, there’s going to be a lot in it besides the Retina-display third installment. It’s supposedly going to be called the iPad 3 and reports indicate the next iPad to come with HD Facetime. The speed would be like those of the famous iPhone cameras on sites like Flickr. Rumours are that the iPad 3 specifications would be much advanced than the iPad 2. The next-gen iPad will be 1MM thicker than the iPad 2 in order to accommodate the Retina Display, but it will hardly be discernible as according to Horowitz, the “curve radiuses on the body will change only a little to accommodate the added thickness, not dramatically. Think iPad 2 Pro, not a redesign.”
Besides that the camera result is about to change as the iPad 3 features a front camera capable of HD for face time calls and the main camera similar to that of the iPhone 4 or 4S. It had been known earlier that Apple had plans to get the 8-megapixel camera of the 4S for the iPad 3 but it never was a confirmed thing.
Finally, Horowitz also mentions that while the iPad 2 will stick around next-generation, its price will drop to $399. It is obviously in-keeping with Apple’s M.O. of having only $100 difference of price among its models in the iPhone family.
