There has been a hyper reaction to the news about iPad’s shipping from Foxconn to US. The announcement dates, release dates, and much more are currently being discussed from various points of views. There’s a lot of debate regarding the March release dates of iPad 3. While some put the announcement to be around 9th of March and the subsequent release to be by the third week of March, some of them disagree with that stating that the iPad 3 could very well arrive sooner. Something like March 17th may be. Well, all those things apart, there are several other important announcements awaited from Apple.
To begin with, iOS 5.1 seems to be in the beta for a long time now. In fact, iMore calls it the “forever beta” state! Apple is expected to make some kind of an announcement and GM release of the iOS 5.1 pretty soon. It will be in March but would it be before iPad 3 (which is sometimes rumored to run the iOS 5.1). The iOS 5.1 beta release came in November last year. We have been waiting for a GM release so developers can use it for real-time testing purposes. But from then on, there has been no official news, no seeds, and absolutely nothing much about the iOS updates from Apple.
The iOS 5.1 on iPad 3 could boast of some major changes and features. Of the iPad 3 features that are talked about, Siri is a hotly contested topic. Following its huge popularity and success on iPhone 4S, would Apple decide to include it on the iPad 3 too? Time will tell.
As to iPad 3 release date:
March it is but, when exactly? Apple has not been a fan of favorite dates when it comes to releasing devices, but both the iPads came out on Fridays. If March 7 or 9 turns out to be the announcement date, iPad 3 would be out by one or two weeks from that date. Pre-orders have almost become a norm starting with iPhone 4S and we expect pre-orders to be available on iPad 3 too. As to the exact date, that’s something we would not do a wild guess with. March third week seems perfect for an iPad 3 release date though. Gives Apple enough time to make sure it has got everything set and ready after the announcement.
