A downside to the popularity of smartphones and tablets can be added strain on corporate networks when IT departments aren’t prepared to handle the extra bandwidth leading to slower connectivity for all.
But so far so good at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, Calif, which recently deployed iPads that connect to the school’s network outfitted with the latest (and fastest) 802.11ac Wi-Fi access points across its 28-acre campus.
Bellarmine purchase its 802.11ac APs from Meru Networks, which claims it can triple the data rates of 802.11n.
