This week’s collective of games range from the entertaining all the way to the extreme. If you’re in the mood for some lighter action, check out Cordy 2 and Supermagical, both of which feature charming characters and quirky plots and missions.
Blade Lords and Borderlands Legends HD are for more serious gamers and involve demons, ninjas, snipers and more. And the arcade-type game Rock Runners is a fun and challenging in between. Click “more” to see what looks good to you!
If you’re a fan of Cordy and Cordy Sky, then you’re no doubt already playing Cordy 2. This next chapter finds our hero, along with friend Volt, arriving in World 2 and discovering that it’s unfortunately been taken over by the evil Boogaloo and his Boogie Bots.
Your goal is to help Cordy and Volt save the Zap Drops from the Boogaloo’s ill intentions. To do so, travel through three different worlds (Carnival, Harmony Harbor and Sky Factory) and more than 48 levels — the first four of which are free — avoiding danger at all costs.
Along the way, you’ll make friends who can help you with your endeavors, including Magnet Bot, Smash Bot, Copter Bot and others. Plus, customize Cordy with specials hats and colors, and earn badges for style and other achievements.
Rock Runners is an arcade-type game featuring a futuristic space miner theme and more than 140 levels in which you can run, jump and swing your way across obstacles and other objects, including radioactive goo, gaps and portals.
Spread across four different worlds, all the levels have their own set of objectives. While you’re trying to complete those, be sure to collect as many gems as possible to unlock upgrades and new characters.
Timing and quick-thinking are everything in Rock Runners, and the game throws a lot of surprises your way, so get those fast fingers ready to enjoy a challenging run each and every time you pick up the game.
Meet Nina, a lovable, supermagical little witch with big eyeglasses and even bigger magic powers. Travel with her across three different continents and fight Nina’s evil witch sisters, along with the hordes of the Minix — deceptive creatures who are out to get Nina. You’ll have to solve puzzles and use spells to banish them forever!
Fortunately, Nina has some allies. Recruit the help of half a dozen powerful warlocks, plus cute and powerful pets, to fight against the Minix, and cook all four Ultramagic Spells to help you in your quest.
Throughout the more than 70 levels you can cook up some spells, meet cool characters, visit new and magical places, solve puzzles, and enjoy mini games like Manuel’s Couples Game and Pinatas.
The Blade Lords are Sakuraba, the fierce and brave swordsman; Hitodama, the bloodthirsty demon; Kateryn, the warrior lady; and Kyogen, the ninja assassin. Start with Sakuraba and meet your enemies (or are they allies?) along the way.
Enjoy old-school fighting action in this 3-D game with 2-D combat view, and pick the mode — Story, Arena or Daily Chaos Portal — that fits your mood. In Arena mode, you can test your character’s mettle in a series of fights to acquire new game skills. And each day, you can play two bonus fights against random users to get extra rewards with the Daily Chaos Portal.
Settings range from the American West to Japan to snowy battlefields, and each character naturally has his or her own unique fighting skills and equipment. Customize your character with costumes, weapons, potions, accessories and more.
The latest installment of the Borderland franchise has arrived, this time with even more of an emphasis on excellent mobile and tablet gameplay.
Characters Mordecai, Lilith, Brick and Roland are tasked with taking out the droves of enemies. Go on randomized missions, perfect three dozen unique powers and skills, purchase new weapons (there are thousands!), and utilize the strategic cover system.
As you play ou’ll earn experience points and level up your characters, unlocking new features and scoring loot. Keep things interesting by playing in fight-for-your-life or sniper modes, and take on new enemy types and newly added mini bosses.
