Apple has updated the iPad in the spring every year of its existence, but now it’s unclear if 2013 will see the same trend with the updates last October. There are some rumors that an April refresh could happen, but there’s been nothing from Cupertino, and little else in the form of part leaks. Today though, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, MacMall, and other third party retailers of Apple products have provided new discounts on iPads, and iPad minis.
Wal-Mart has discounted the iPad mini by $30 from $329 to $299. Best Buy on the other hand has discounted the full sized 3rd generation iPad by 30% from $449 to $314 on the 16GB model, while the 64GB version is $454 on discount. These are some significant discounts on iPads, and while retailers don’t have any more information on Apple’s release plans than we do, they still seem to offer discounts on Apple products right before new releases, based on inventory checks.
The iPad 5, and iPad mini 2 are coming at sometime, and it may be in the next month if these discounts are any indication.
