When we’re looking at competition for iPad, there’s only Samsung Galaxy Tab and that’s a distant second to the iPad in comparison of market share. Of course, if the iPad Mini comeout, people say that could bring a specifically challenging competition for the iPad in the US market.
The 7.85″ iPad Mini has been in the news for quite sometime now. Experts from supply chain sources have hinted that Apple had been long planning and designing the mini iPad – which would directly take on the Kindle Fire (which is smaller than traditional iPad size).
Brain White of Topeka Capital has been sending notes to investors regarding the potential of the iPad Mini features. The iPad Mini can be a very solid competition to iPad itself as about 18% of the market is likely to jump to iPad Mini.
Most of the reason is cost. The iPad Mini would arrive with a lesser price tag than that of the iPads and hence would benefit quite a number of people – especially students. The note circulated hinted that an iPad Mini release would hugely boost education sales bringing more homes the iPad Mini as it would be affordable.
iPad Mini release date has, for the moment, been hinted by White to be in September which has been termed an “exciting” month for Apple. It’s not exactly clear if the 7.85” iPad Mini release date would really be in September, but White has been in Taiwan and has spoken to his sources in the supply chain. We’ll just have to wait now.
