Apple is hosting a major press conference mere hours from now, where it is expected to unveil a bevy of new products. That includes a refreshed Apple TV with a new tvOS operating system, final details on iOS 9, new iPhones, the iPad Pro and possibly more. Now a new report adds some final tidbits before the event kicks off.
9to5Mac said early Wednesday morning that Apple will launch a new feature for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus that will allow Siri to work at all times through a simple “Hey Siri” command. Always-on “OK Google” already works on many Android smartphones, so this isn’t a new feature for the industry but, on iOS, it only worked when a phone was plugged in.
The site also said the iPad Pro is expected to ship in three flavors starting at $799 for 32GB of storage and bumping up to 64GB of storage at $899 and 128GB for $999. Not a cheap tablet.
Apple’s tvOS will also reportedly pull some of the UI elements from Apple’s new mobile and desktop operating systems, but will otherwise be a variation of iOS instead of a full-fledged desktop operating system. And, finally, Apple will apparently discuss new Apple Watch bands during the event.
Going to be an exciting one, and TechnoBuffalo will be reporting live from the show.
