It is a widespread belief that when September 12th rolls around, the next generation iPhone, which some call the iPhone 5, would have been announced already. Well, assuming that happens, it would also signal the end of the road for the aged iPhone 3GS, making the 8GB model of the iPhone 4 as the entry-level iPhone which in all probability, will be handed to customers for free on £20 monthly contracts, taking over where the iPhone 3GS left off.
There is also speculation that an 8GB iPhone 4S might just be introduced as well which would not sound all that out of this world. Well, everything here remains as speculation for the moment, so we will know for sure as we nudge slowly but surely towards the end of the second week of September. Would you miss the iPhone 3GS if it were removed? It remains to be seen whether other markets might follow suit when the new iPhone arrives.
