2011 is coming to a close, and that means it’s time to start critiquing and/or justifying our purchases over the year. Personally, I’m pleased with my Destroy All Monsters Blu-ray, but that’s not really relevant here. Rather, we’ll focus on SodaHead.com’s Best New Tech Gadget poll, which saw Apple claiming the top two spots.
SodaHead.com is “the web’s leading opinion-based community,” allowing readers to weigh in on epic struggles such as who should get custody of Hugh Hefner’s dog and which celebrity is the most clueless when it comes to science. Sometimes, however, their polls are in line with our mission here at Appletell, as with the Best New Tech Gadget poll:
iPhone 4S – 39%
iPad 2 – 25%
Kindle Fire – 17%
Nintendo 3DS – 12%
Nook Table – 7%
That all looks good to me, although I’d place the 3DS higher than the Fire.
It’s also worth noting that the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs ranked among the top five news stories of the year, along the Japan earthquake, the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, the trial of Casey Anthony and Occupy Wall Street.
