The Google Zeitgeist list has the iPhone, iPad and Galaxy S phones at the top of its list
The Apple iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S lineup are some of the most-searched for devices, according to Google's year-end Zeitgeist report.
According to the report for U.S. searches, the iPhone 5 was the most-searched for phone in 2012. This isn't very much of a surprise, as the iPhone is always a popular device and this year had a little extra juice behind it because it was the first iPhone with a screen larger than 3.5 inches and 4G LTE.
People seemed really interested in Apple products, as the iPhone 4S was the second-most searched for terms in the phones category. It's unclear how much of this was before the release of the iPhone 5 but it also helps that Apple still sells the iPhone 4S for a discounted price.
Don't feel too bad for Samsung though, as its Galaxy lineup capture the next three spots in the Zeitgeist report. The Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2 were the third, foruth and fifth most-searched for devices in 2012.
In what may be a much-needed bright spot for RIM, the BlackBerry Bold and Curve were the sixth and seventh-most searched for devices. The Lumia 900, Windows Phone 8 and Motorola DROID RAZR rounded up the top 10 list.
