The iPhone 5 will be available for preorder Sept. 14 and it will be available for wider purchase Sept. 21
If you want the new iPhone 5, you've come to the right place to learn where and when you can buy it. Apple has included an improved processor, a larger 4-inch Retina Display, an improved iSight camera and more in the new iPhone 5.
If you can't wait to pick one up, you will be able to preorder the iPhone 5 Sept. 14 (this Friday) from Apple's website. I'm assuming AT&T, Sprint and Verizon will also have their preorder systems ready for Sept. 14.
If you want to wait in line, you can pick up the iPhone 5 at a retail store Sept. 21. It will launch in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore at first but it will be more broadly available Sept. 28.
The iPhone 5 will have a similar pricing model as the iPhones that came before it: the 16GB version will be $199, $299 will get you 32GB and $399 will get you 64GB. All of those prices are with a new, two-year contract. It's unclear how much a non-contract, unlocked version will be but you can expect to pay at least $650 for one, based on previous pricing.
You'll be able to buy the new iPhone from the Apple store, as well as from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon retail and online stores. Major retailers like Best Buy and RadioShack will likely also carry the iPhone 5.
