If you own an iPhone 6 and have recently restored it, only to find that Apple Pay is no longer working properly, you may need to have your phone replaced by Apple. A new glitch apparently prevents folks from adding credit and debit cards into Apple Pay after the restore, and it appears that Apple isn’t sure how to fix the problem just yet.
“I just left the Apple Store. They couldn’t diagnose the issue and we did a restore there in store and the problem persisted. The solution was to swap the hardware,” one user said in the Apple Support forums, as spotted by 9to5Mac. The customer said Apple tried a full restore and even setting it up as a new iPhone, but nothing worked until Apple offered a completely new phone.
This sounds like something that can hopefully be fixed through a software update of some sort, at least if Apple can get to the root of the problem. Until then, be sure to back up your phones before any restore, and be aware that this glitch exists.
