The first rumor is regarding the iPhone 6′s battery life which was talked about in another article. But now instead of a ball-park number we have a specific battery capacity. Reported images of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 battery with the size of 1,810 mAH has leaked. This isn’t much of a bump up from the iPhone 5 and 5s’ 1,560 mAH battery. I wouldn’t expect much more of a battery life seeing as the iPhone 6 is reported to come with a larger screen. This being said, the A8 chip may be an impressive (battery) life saver, and with the updates coming in iOS 8 there may be an extra hour or so added to the ‘official’ battery life. We still expect the 5.5-inch model will ship with a battery with the capacity of around 2,500 mAH.
Next up, cameras! The iPhone 6 is set to have a much needed camera boost! While Apple is correct in saying that when it comes to megapixels it is quality over quantity, you still need some quantity. According to Chinese Sony fan forum Digi-Wo (good luck reading this without Google Translate), the iPhone 6 will ship with the Exmor IMX220 which comes with a 13-megapixel, 1/2.3” sensor. This isn’t the first time Apple has used a Sony camera sensor, starting from the iPhone 4s, all the iPhones up to now have used sensors from the IMX145 series.
Finally, reports are coming out that say Foxccon (Apple’s main Chinese manufacturer) has hired around 100,000 new workers to meet the new demand of product manufacturing. Foxccon also got 10,000 new robots to help with easier tasks of production like tightening screws. According to other reports, these new hires and robots are to help specifically with the iPhone 6 production. The iPhone 6 with the 4.7-inch display is set to start production sometime this month, with its larger 5.5-inch display brother following close after in August.
The iPhone 6 is set to be announced some time in September (19th), and set to be released sometime later that month (30th).
