Thinking of waiting in line for Apple iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? You should check out Apple’s plans so you’re fully prepared for the long night ahead. We’ve been calling some of our local stores, and people are already waiting in line; Apple’s flagship SOHO store already has “hundreds” of people, according to an Apple specialist we spoke to. The excitement is real. People are going nuts! Millions of pre-orders have already been registered.
Here are some pertinent details for your line experience.
We spoke to a store nearby, and the specialist confirmed that each individual will be able to purchase two iPhones, whether it be the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. Again, Apple will allow you to purchase two iPhones if you decide to endure the wait which, hey, shouldn’t you be waiting right now instead of reading this at home? Apple also told us that unlocked devices will be sold when the new iPhones go on sale tomorrow, so if you plan on picking one up without signing a new contract, you can do so.
Unfortunately, Apple wouldn’t comment on how much inventory each store will get, so it’ll be a crap shoot if you do decide to wait. When pre-orders first went up, the iPhone 6 Plus went quickly, while the iPhone 6 was still available the next morning. That doesn’t mean you won’t find an iPhone 6 Plus at your nearby store, but units will likely be very limited, so plan accordingly.
The rules may vary from store to store, so your best bet is to call down before you start waiting in line. People are already lined up at stores across the U.S., which means your window for getting an iPhone on day-one is quickly closing. The iPhone 6 16GB starts at $199, and goes all the way up to $399 for the 128GB model with two-year contract. The iPhone 6 Plus, meanwhile, starts at $299 for the 16GB model, and goes all the way up to $499 for the 128GB model.
