The iPhone 6 has the potential to be Apple’s biggest iPhone yet with rumors swirling about what might be. We have only heard whispers to this point, but now an anonymous Twitter user has posted a series of photos claiming to be the iPhone 6. Obviously, take the source with a grain of salt, but the spy shots do align with the rumors we have heard about the iPhone 6. There’s a bezel-less screen side to side, minimized top & bottom borders, and what equates to a 4.7” screen.
The images could be completely fake, or early prototypes, but either way offer a good idea of what to expect based on the rumors we have heard so far. A few indicators in the images show they could be faked based on the font of “iPhone” on the back, the inclusion of FCC data at this early stage, and the composition of air bubbles, which align with other leaks. Still though, many signs are pointing to a 4.7” iPhone 6, possibly with a larger screen variant in the 5.5” range. The device will be thinner due to new LED backlight technology, and the images show an aluminum back with curved edges, which is like the iPad mini, and iPad Air. There’s also the potential for a sapphire glass display based on Apple’s new manufacturing plant, and an extension on the current iPhone 5S cover of the camera, and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
The iPhone 6 is still months away, but we may have just got a glimpse of Apple’s next phone.
