September is set to be a huge month for smartphones with the release of the iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, the Blackberry Passport and the next generation Moto X all due to be released.
Reports are surfacing that the iPhone 6 will be announced on September 9. G for Games cites a report on Weibo that claims the iPhone 6 has now entered “the PVT (Production Validation Test) stage, which means that the assembly line is run at full speed in order to detect any potential issues that may hinder the assembly process”.
The source is an ex professor at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, who is currently the CEO of the Chinese Publication CCTIMES.
We’ve seen multiple leaks from different parts of the handset – including the full phone – that suggests it’s entering the final stages and is properly into production.
With the iPhone 6 release date set for September 9, even without these reports it would be safe to assume that Apple are finalising the latter stages of their product and are in the PVT stage of production.
