Rumors are circulating that the only addition to the iPhone 6 will be an A6X processor - disappointing
The iPhone 6 word on the street today is that Apple's new hero device will feature only a new A6 processor, but nothing else new at all.
According to site Pop Herald, the iPhone 6 will feature a brand new processor, but the design will remain exactly the same as the iPhone 5, just like the iPhone 4S was almost the same as the iPhone 4.
The Apple A6X chip, which also appears inside the iPad 4, will appear in the new Apple smartphone, whether it's the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6.
This is just the latest rumor to hit surrounding the iPhone.
In recent weeks we've heard that it will be a budget device, rather than the high-end device we're used to from Apple. Another possibility is that there will be two iPhones announced in June -- one budget iPhone 5S or 6 and one higher end -- the latter is essentially exactly what we're used to from Apple.
We've also heard more rumors than we can process regarding its specs as the world goes crazy for the nest installment of the Apple story.
Here's a list of the specs we've heard so far:
4-inch (with a 1917x1080 pixels or 3.5-inch screen (there will be two versions)
Quad-core ARM Cortex-A15
Available on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon
Prices from $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for 64GB
These specs are of course, all subject to a certain degree of specualtion - most are from dubious sources and as is usually the case with Apple there may be more than one prototype circulating at the moment.
