Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus may get most of the attention, but the company is also allegedly working on a third new smartphone. The iPhone 6c likely won’t arrive until next year, but once it does it could offer a nice upgrade over the current iPhone 5c.
A leaked image obtained by NoWhereElse appears to reveal the 1715mAh battery Apple will include with its upcoming smartphone. That’s a nice jump from the iPhone 5c’s 1510mAh battery in the iPhone 5c, though it’s still not as big as the iPhone 6’s 1810mAh power pack. Then again, if the iPhone 6c sticks with a 4-inch display that should be more than enough power.
According to one recent rumor, the iPhone 6c will feature a metal frame and high-end specs in a smaller frame. That might even include Touch ID and NFC, making it possible to use Apple Pay on the cheaper handset.
The device is expected to ship in the first quarter of next year, and Apple has allegedly already tapped AU Optronics to supply its 4-inch display panels. Of course, the iPhone 6c is still just a rumor, but it’s looking more and more likely with each new leak.
