New iPhone launches seem to be typically marred with various issues, at least at the start. In the past we’ve heard of users complaining about yellow-ish screens, light leaks, purple-tinges to photos, and with the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, we are now hearing about potential audio problems.
Some users are complaining that when they are making phone calls, the audio coming from the earpiece makes the other person sound “distant”. However oddly enough, regular audio is not affected by this problem, so it is unclear if we’re looking at some kind of service problem by carriers, or if it could be a software issue, or maybe even a hardware issue related to the cellular capabilities of the phone.
Some users have discovered that by lowering the volume, it will temporarily address the issue, but Apple has yet to acknowledge the issue and a community specialist has pointed users towards this troubleshooting guide regarding missing or distorted sound. Thankfully it isn’t as widespread as you might think, so maybe some users just got some faulty units.
