The new and highly anticipated Apple device has finally been announced, say hello to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Let’s take a look at what sets these devices apart from their predecessors, the iPhone 6s and 6 Plus.
The iPhone 7 devices have a glossy, mirrored finish instead of the classic matte metal finish we are use to. The new color is called jet black and is much darker than the classic space gray. Apple also will be releasing the standard balck model, along with gold, silver and rose gold.
One of the new features of the device is the force sensitive home button which vibrates to give feedback to the user.
Probably the most useful new feature to the iPhone is its resistance to water and dust. If you get your new iPhone 7 or 7 Plus wet, not to worry!
The camera in the standard sized iPhone 7 has been upgraded with an optical image stabilizer and a brighter f/1.8 aperture lens that lets in 50% more light. The new 12-megapixel sensor is 60% faster and 30% more efficient than the iPhone 6.
The iPhone 7 Plus features a dual camera system, allowing for true 2x optical zoom without loss of image quality. One of the lenses is equivalent to 28mm for wide angle shots, while the other has a closer range, and switching between cameras is made simple with the iPhone 7 Plus camera app.
The new phones have updated displays with retina HD, that’s 25% brighter than the 6 series
This device is the first iPhone without a headphone jack. iPhone 7’s will be shipped with a pair of earbuds that connect via the lightening port and an adapter that works with standard wired headphones. The speakers at the top and bottom of the devices provide stereo sound that is twice as loud as previous devices.
The new devices are claimed to perform 2x faster than the iPhone 6 with 3x the speed for graphics.
The iPhone 7 will start with 32GB of storage and goes up to 256GB for a higher price. The new devices also have longer battery life, 2 more hours battery on 7, and one more on the 7 Plus.
