One might think that Apple’s iPhone 7 is already finalized, at least given the influx of recent rumors. Turns out that’s not true, at least according to 9to5Mac’s well-connected Mark Gurman.
Gurman wrote a post on Friday about new and completely wireless Beats headphones Apple is working on that might ship “alongside” the iPhone 7 as a premium accessory. These are in addition to new EarPods. The headphones may charge inside of an included carrying case, which could be neat.
More importantly, though, at least in my opinion, is what Gurman had to say about the iPhone 7. Apparently Apple hasn’t even finished the design.
“Sources say that Apple has not yet finalized the design of the handset,” Gurman wrote. “Case makers tell us that Apple is currently testing three different designs for the iPhone 7, including a completely new, thinner look as well as a backup design that looks substantially like the iPhone 6s.”
If history is any indicator, Apple will change the design of the iPhone 7 since it typically keeps the same industrial look for the “S” model. Odd that it might actually consider something that might not look a whole lot different from the iPhone 6s we’re already carrying.
