One of the big improvements to this year’s iPhone 7 is the camera, which now comes with a f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization—something that was reserved for the larger model last year. Apple says it’s one of the best cameras on the market, only bested by the company’s own iPhone 7 Plus shooter, which comes equipped with a dual lens system.
It’s not just the larger aperture; Apple claims the A10 Fusion chip comes equipped with a built-in image signal processor, which “powers over 100 billion operations” and used machine learning to make images look better. In addition, other improvements include faster focus and superior white balance compared to last year’s model.
We have only just begun to put the iPhone 7 to the test, but before we get done to the real nitty-gritty we decided to take a few comparison shots next to the Galaxy S7—another one of the market’s top mobile shooters.
Here’s where you tell us which one performed better. Pay attention to sharpness, white balance, and colors. So which one would you rather have in your pocket based on the camera alone?
