Boy Loves Girl is a new game out for both the iPhone and iPad that follows a boy doing what many boys are wont to do – please the girl he loves. In the game, that translates into hunting down all of the girl’s favorite things (and there are a lot of them) through seven worlds and 50 levels, making it an impressively robust game that provides a satisfying enough amount of variety for a $0.99 purchase.
Much of the gameplay revolves around collecting smiles in the platformer tradition (rings, coins, etc.). The challenge comes from some incomprehensibly hostile clouds. The boy is toting the Moon on a string for his beloved, but these clouds are having absolutely none of it. They’ll try to destroy the moon through various cloud powers, which you’ll need to avoid by swiping up or down on the touchscreen to move the Moon.
It’s a quirky enough game that manages to remain fresh, even if its core gameplay isn’t anything different from what you’ve probably played before. If you’re in need of another fun, light time-waster, you could do a lot worse than Boy Loves Girl.
