Reading about all the patent trolling lawsuits from Apple is akin to being subjected to hours and hours of electroshock. While watching Apple win a billion dollars from Samsung in the most recent insult to the meaning of justice wasn’t the most fun thing to do, it happened. Thankfully, Google is preparing to fight back, as is Samsung. However, we as end users can do a little trolling of our own with a gallery application that mimics the one found on the iPhone.
Brought to XDA by Forum Member mehul_crazybond, the modified gallery application looks quite a bit like Apple’s own photo gallery. Aside from visual appeal—or lack thereof, if you don’t like Apple’s skeumorphic designs—the application also does work in performing the tasks it is supposed to. The list of features include:
Option to multiple Selection
option to crop
Option to Set As wallpaper, lockscreen wallpaper etc.
Direct option for Camera and Video Recording
Option for Slideshow.
Option for different sorting.
Tweaks for super speed.
So there’s a few added features from most stock Android galleries, which make this worth a try for some, even if only for the novelty factor. As an added bonus, you can tell people you’re breaking an Apple design patent. If you’d like to try it, check out the original thread.
