Home of all official apps relating to heroes, Gameloft, has announced the imminent end of the month arrival of its tie-in with undoubtedly-going-to-be-awesome new Marvel flick, Iron Man 3.
Scheduled to land on Google Play on April 25th to coincide with the UK release date of the increasingly troubled Tony Stark’s latest big screen outing, details as to whether the game will follow the plot of the movie closely are currently sketchy at best but, an endless flyer, you can be guaranteed more action than you can shake a hand-mounted stabilising and manoeuvring jet stick at.
Battling baddies such as jets, drones and other assorted enemies while keeping a constant eye on your environment to avoid annoying obstacles like inconsiderately constructed buildings and tedious bits of rail-based public transport, its seems Gameloft has taken a completely different tack with their approach to the new Iron app, moving far away from the more involved and even more criticised Iron Man 2 to stand as, ahem, Stark contrast.
With sharp 3D graphics and detailed backgrounds, control of old Shellhead has been simplified to tap to target and slide to steer, whilst up and down elements to engage adversaries are handled automatically. Power-ups also appear along the way to help the Armoured Avenger stay suited and not end up as a lump of twisted scrap Iron in the street, and tokens can be collected to upgrade said suits to become the ultimate Invincible Iron Man.
Naturally we’ll be posting a full review following the end of April launch, so have J.A.R.V.I.S. set you a reminder to head back here and see how we got on with this year’s cinematic other Man of metal.
