iStopMotion has long been a powerful program for creating your own stop motion animation movies. Today, it became a bit more powerful and much more convenient. iStopMotion 3 for OS X has added the ability to create HD movies using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as a camera via the free iStopMotion Remote Camera app. It also has a new look that’s fully optimized for the MacBook Pro’s Retina display and is sandboxed and signed with DeveloperID for Gatekeeper.
iPhone camera support was originally offered for iStopMotion for iPad, and allows your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to become a versatile HD camera for creating stop motion and time lapse videos. Available free of charge from the App Store, iStopMotion Remote Camera transmits a live video feed and supports 1080p remote capture with the iPhone 4S and the iPad (3rd gen), and 720p with iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th gen) and iPad 2.
