The Case-Mate Jett Metal Case for iPhone 4/4S is something else. While most cases on the market are made of some kind of plastic, the Jett Metal case is made of metal. It’s a bumper style case that enhances the metal edge of the iPhone 4/4S. It has an extremely minimalistic style that will keep your iPhone protected better than many cases while letting you enjoy most of the natural design of your phone.
The Jett Metal Case is one of the most unique cases I’ve taken a look at for iPhone 4/4S. It’s essentially a bumper made out of metal. To put it on, you’ll have to slap one metal frame on the back and front of your iPhone while carefully placing the button and slider covers in place. The design is pretty neat, since it can accommodate any iPhone 4/4S (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) thanks to the button and slider covers. Then just screw the front and back together and you’re good to go.
What I like best about this case is how it feels. It feels like something special. Your iPhone will have a little extra weight; the kind of weight that makes you feel like you’re holding something sturdy. That’s because you are. I imagine this thing is pretty tough, too. I wasn’t all that tempted to drop my phone, but I can only assume this frame would hold up to impacts better than a plastic case. And since the bumper extends above and behind your phone, the screen of your device won’t touch flat surfaces ever. All that’s left to worry about are corners, rocks, etc. It’s a great way to keep your iPhone protected while still being able to see all of the front and back of the device.
Unfortunately, the coolest thing about this device, the fact that it’s made out of metal, can also be the cause of some problems. First off, don’t buy this case if you have any sort of reception issues. The metal is not going to help. I initially thought there was something wrong with my phone, or the service in my area (since I had recently moved), but once I took the case off, reception improved. It’s not like this guy is preventing you from making calls, but if you have so-so reception to begin with (like I do in my apartment), you can say goodbye to a bar or two, and that could be a deal breaker. You’ll also have to deal with the semi-restricted port opening sizes, which accommodate the latest Apple connectors (thin), but not bigger dongles, fatter dock connectors or huge headphone cables. If you can live with these two facts, then by all means, the Jett Metal case is pretty sweet.
So ,as long as you have no reception issues and you don’t use dongle-style accessories with your iPhone, the Jett Metal case will make you feel as though you have the coolest case around. Its well designed frame hugs the iPhone and enhances the style instead of covering it all up. It looks great and feels nice in the hand, all while protecting your phone.
