Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra is now available for purchase via the online eCommerce retailer eBay.in at Rs. 6,999 from the seller “cromaelectronicstore”.
The Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) phone and runs a custom version of Android 4.4 KitKat. The device has a 5-inch 540×960 resolution display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek with 1 GB of RAM. The phone has 4 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32 GB using the the microSD card slot. The phone also has a 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a front camera which can take pics at 2 MP and has a 2000 mAh battery, 3G connectivity and WiFi connectivity up to WiFi N standard.
The phone will slot in nicely in the budget range of smartphones by Karbonn which include the Karbonn Titanium S10 and the Karbonn Sparkle V.
It is interesting to note that Karbonn is targeting the price range without releasing anything new in the mid range smartphone market. The Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra is set to rival the Moto E and other Android One smartphones. It will be interesting to see if Karbonn’s customization can offer anything new to the end user apart from the features that are already there in stock Android. The only manufacturers who ship custom versions of Android and have managed to get the balance between features and bloat in my opinion is Motorola and Xiaomi, although MIUI is slightly heavier. Hopefully Karbonn can deliver constant updates to Android, unlike most other budget manufacturers.
