Trick or treating is loads of fun for kids. They get to run around in their costumes picking up all the goodies. However, it can be a nerve-wracking experience for parents. They are having to keep track of kids of all different ages. Some who may want to trick or treat with their friends, or who get mixed up in groups of kids as they move from house to house.
The folks at Iconosys, Inc. are smart phone developers focusing on mobile safety. They are set to release Trick or Tracker 2.0. to help ease some of the challenges for parents on this night and the rest of the year.
Trick or Tracker
This up to date app allows parents to keep track of their little ghouls and goblins on Halloween. It does work on every other day of the year as well! You install Trick or Tracker on both the parent’s phone and the child’s phone, allowing the parent to find the child either on demand, or at pre-set check-in intervals. This allows the children to locate the parent or to send a distress message to the parent in a time of need. This will notify the parent of the child’s exact physical location. The child’s phone has special “Where Am I?”, “Send Location”, and “Where’s My Parent?” buttons, and the parent’s phone has a corresponding “Where’s My Child?” button.
Trick or Tracker can also be programmed to automatically send out updates of physical locations, in pre-set intervals, from the child’s phone to the parent’s phone. Additionally, the parent can set up their own “Geo-Fence” and “Location Triggers” to notify the parent if their child is traveling outside an allowable area, or has reached a pre-set destination, such as “home from school.”
The app is available to download from their website for $4.99. Trick or Tracker will also be available on Halloween day for free from 8am EST until 11:59pm EST. Only the child’s phone is required to have the Android OS. Parents with other OS’s can use the app on their device as long as it has Google Maps loaded.
