The Amazon Kindle App for the Apple iPad was just updated today and brings a ton of new content to the platform that is sure to impress. There are 400 new magazines and newspapers that are now available that now available. Basically all of the content that is exclusive to the Kindle Fire is now able to be accessed on the iPad.
This new update should give the Apple Newsstand a run for its money giving Kindle customers a viable alternative to read the same content they purchased on the Kindle Fire on the iPad. If you don’t have a Fire you can still purchase content on Amazon and then have it synced to your device. There is tons of new content such as Martha Stewart Living, Food Network, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Popular Science and many more are available in full color. The layout of the main library changed a bit to accommodate this new content and there is new tabs for magazines and newspapers.
There is tons of other updates found in 2.9 such as support for print replica textbooks, including rich formatting and proper layouts. There is also support for notes, highlights, zoom and pan, and linked table of contents.
Finally you can email documents to your Kindle email address and they will deliver them device. This is stored in the Kindle Cloud and able to be accessed across a wide range of platforms, including the iPad.
