Customers who commit to EA and 38 Studios' fantasy RPG prior to February 7 will receive armor, weapons, dowsing rod.
Electronic Arts is giving gamers plenty of lead time to factor 38 Studios' Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning into their game-purchase budget, having announced the game's February 7 release date last month. Now, the publisher has revealed a round of perks for those who pick up the game in advance.
Those who preorder Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be granted a trio of in-game character-enhancement packs. The Destines of Choice pack includes unique armor sets for each class, while the Fate-Touched Weapons pack includes nine different types of damage-dealing bludgeons, bows, and swords. Lastly, the Ultimate Treasure Hunter pack includes a dowsing rod that helps players find potion reagents.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be the first game released from 38 Studios, with development led by Elder Scrolls III and IV lead designer Ken Rolston. The fantasy-themed RPG will feature a number of genre staples, from skeleton warriors and cave trolls to swords and sorcery.
Players will be able to dictate the progression of their protagonists, choosing and developing a variety of skills that will determine an optimum play style as well as character classes.
