Many of us take a ton of photos and videos with our iPhone, and yet Apple’s stock camera app leaves quite a bit to be desired. If you want to take pictures with your iPhone, but still have professional level controls, then you have come to the right place. KitCamera offers a complete professional package that not only offers a full camera suite, but also includes a deluxe photo editing suite after you take your pictures. KitCamera is the successor to KitCam, which was a great app back in 2012, but was removed from the App Store as the developers were acquired by Yahoo. Now, there’s KitCamera from a new development team, offering a similar feature set, but enhanced in numerous ways.
KitCamera offers almost every single camera feature you could possibly think of, and it’s all accessible through quickly accessible trays. The tray at the far right gives you access to 16 different lens types, 51 unique filtered film styles, and 40 frames, all with live previews. The next tray over provides real time adjustments to exposure, and white balance through a slider based interface. Then there’s the settings button next to that, which lets you switch shooting modes. KitCamera offers standard photos, HD video, continuous shooting, high speed shooting, image stabilization, timed photos, multi-exposure, multi-shot, timelaps, long shutter, light-trail, and night snap. You can slide, and tap to activate each of the unique shooting modes, and each one also includes their own settings panels. Finally in shooting mode, you can set separate focus, and exposure points.
The camera mode is the most feature rich of any app in the App Store, and then you have access to all of the photo editing options. First off, you’re given basic photo editing techniques including enhance and crop, with the ability to change the filter, lens, frame, white balance, and exposure points that you may, or may not have used while shooting. Then, you’re given professional editing techniques with sliders for color balance, brightness, contrast, and saturation. KitCamera takes it to the next level with a complete histogram with different sliders to change the complete color range. Once you have completed your edits, you then have the ability to save, or share your edited photos to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, WhatsApp, SkyDrive, Tumblr, or e-mail.
That are a whole lot of features included in just a single app to give you everything you could want when it comes to photos from capturing to editing. Even though there’s so much included, it’s all relatively accessible with the intuitive trays, and sliders that house all of the different abilities. It can take awhile to become familiar with where exactly everything is, but it’s well worth it to greatly improve your photos every step along the way. All of the changes you apply are non-destructible, so you can capture photos with various live effects, and then edit them back to original, or to a completely different form.
KitCamera ($0.99 -> Free, Universal) offers the total package for it to be the only camera, and photo editing app you have on your iOS device. As an added bonus, the app is currently on sale for free, and is now a universal app with iPad support. KitCamera simply can’t be beat, so start shooting with it today.
