Evleaks still has some more leaks to push out on this Friday afternoon. The latest is the Kyocera Hydro Icon, which he says will be landing on the Now network this year. Now there’s not much information here, but judging by the name, I’m guessing that this is going to be a waterproof device. And since it’s Kyocera, Sprint will be pushing it pretty hard as they have with all their previous Kyocera devices. But we can also tell by the picture that it’ll be a 4.7 or a 5-inch device, but that’s just a guess. It also appears to have KitKat on-board, as the icons are white, like KitKat. And surprisingly all the OEMs are following that trend with their updates and in their skins. We also see that there is a home button, back button and menu button, all of which are capacitive. As well as a power button on the top, and a camera with flash on the back.
If you look in the notification bar, you’ll notice that it is a Sprint Spark device. Which shouldn’t be surprising, as I’m sure Sprint will only sell devices that use Spark these days. Same as what happened with LTE devices. Once a carrier got up their LTE network, they stopped adding new devices that didn’t have LTE connectivity. The Kyocera Hydro Icon looks like a mid-range device to me, I’m not sure if that’s because its Kyocera, or just the look of the device. But until we have some specs, we really don’t know what class of device this is. Whether it’s a high end, mid-range or low-end smartphone from Kyocera.
Are any of our readers interested in a smartphone from Kyocera on Sprint? How many of you want to see this one on more carriers? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
