Sony has announced Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ at IFA Berlin 2016. Xperia X Compact is a 4.6-inch device that comes with HD Triluminos display sporting Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device has a resolution of 1280X720 pixels and is powered by an hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. The phone has a dimensions of 129 x 65 x 9.5 mm and weighs around 135 grams. The Xperia X Compact comes with AndroidMarshmallow v6.0 on board. This Single Nano-Sim supported device features 3GB of RAM and packs 32GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The phone features a massive 23-megapixel of rear camera with Exmos RS sensor. The camera packs a Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and 5-axis stabilization that lets you choose your subject and then predicts its motion so that you can capture the blur-free action in perfect focus. The phone also has a 5-megapixels of front-facing camera with a 22mm wide-angle lens. The front-facing camera also features 1080p video recording. The Xperia X Compact has a fingerprint sensor on the power button. The network connectivity options include: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C. The device is backed by 2700mAh battery Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology, which charges phone in minutes for all day use. Though the price details of this phone is yet to be disclosed, the color options of this phone will be Mist Blue, Universe Black and White color; and is expect to roll out globally starting from October this year.
Sony also announced Xperia XZ featuring 5.2-inch Triluminos Display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phone is powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 64-bit 14nm processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The phone also is water resistant with IP65/IP68 ratings. The phone weighs 161 gms. The device has 3GB of RAM and comes with 32/64GB internal memory which can be expanded upto 256GB using microSD card. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0 and has Dual-SIM capability(Optional). The Xperia XZ features 23-megapixels of camera with Exmos RS sensor, Predictive Hybrid AF, 5-axis stabilization; and also sports 4K recording. The phone has a dedicated camera shutter button. It has 13-megapixels of front-facing camera featuring 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens and 1080p video recording capabilities. Like X Compact, this phone too has fingerprint sensor. The network connectivity options includes: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C. Just like in X Compact, the battery is powered by Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology and is of 2900 mAh capacity. Motorola has launched another mid-range phone in Z series called the Moto Z Play. The phone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display sporting corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, the device runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 edition. The device also has a fingerprint sensor on the front. It has support for Moto Mods, similar to the other Moto Z smartphones. Moto Mods snap onto your phone using integrated magnet, producing a perfect fit. Moto Z Play comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal memory with a scope of expansion using microSD card. It has 16-megapixel of rear camera and 5-megapixels of front-facing camera packing a wide-Angle lens and LED flash. The network connectivity options include: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, NFC and USB Type-C port. The phone has 3510mAh battery with Turbocharging. The device is expected to come in color options such as Black, Silver,Black Slate, White, Fine Gold and Sugar White. The Moto Z play will start rolling out globally from September 2016. Although India pricing has not been announced, we could expect the price to be around Rs. 30,000/-.
Lenovo silently showcased its new smartphones at IFA Berlin. The range of smartphones showcased includes: K6, K6 Power and K6 Note. All the three devices sport unibody metal designs, Android Marshmallow v6.0.1, Snapdragon 430 SoCs, Fingerprint sensors and have Either Single or Dual-SIM variants. The K6 features 5-inch Full-HD display sporting 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device also comes with Adreno 505 GPU. The other specifications include 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of Internal Storage with expandable storage using microSD card. The K6 comes with 13-megapixels of primary camera and 8-megapixels of secondary camera. The network connectivity options include: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS. It also has 3000mAh battery. On the other hand, K6 Power comes with similar display resolution and has two variants, 1GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB/32GB Storage, with both having capabilities of storage expansion. Like K6, this phone too has Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 on board. This Dual-SIM supported device packs 4000mAh built-in battery and has other specifications similar to that of K6. However, K6 Note has a slight variation in features in offering. It has 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has either 3GB/4GB variants with 32GB as the internal storage, expandable upto 128GB of MicroSD card. The K6 Note has Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 running and packs 16-megapixels of rear camera with Dual-Tone LED flash and 8-megapixels of front-facing camera. Like the other two devices, this phone too has a fingerprint sensor on the back, and Dolby Atmos certification. The device comes with 4000mAh built-in battery. The Lenovo K6, K6 Power and K6 Note will come in Dark grey, Gold and Silver colors and expected to start rolling out from September 2016. The prices of these device is yet unknown, but Lenovo might reveal them soon.
