The iPhone 5 isn’t the only future Apple product accompanied by a truckload of rumors and speculation. We can’t forget about the iPad Mini, suspected to be Apple’s attempt at striking back against the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Google Nexus 7.
9to5Mac claims to have pictures from “sources” that reveal the outside appearance of the new tablet. It looks like Apple. 9to5Mac chooses to call it a bigger iPod Touch with a smaller bezel, but you could just as easily describe it as a smaller iPad with a smaller bezel. That smaller bezel will only be along the sides of the device when in portrait mode, with the top of the device featuring the front-facing camera. Or, we could get something completely different. Apple, as always, has been tight-lipped, and usually has a way of throwing curveballs come presentation time, even in the face of avalanches of rumors.
With that said, we recently spoke with an exec at a leading tablet manufacturer and he revealed to us, that he has own sources in China which have confirmed that the iPad Mini is indeed on its way. He also said that the iPad Mini will look almost identical to the current iPad, just smaller. We’re going to take all of these rumors with a grain of salt for now. But one thing is for sure, and that is that it seems like an iPad Mini is really slated to be announced next month.
