As an adult I already know my ABC’s and I’d say I’m pretty good with the vocabulary as well. I’m not F Scott Fitzgerald but I do okay just the same. That being said I only wished I had an app like ABC Galaxy to learn from when I was growing up. Back then learning my abc’s was never that much fun. ABC Galaxy by studycat is an educational game that takes players on an educational space journey through 42 single player and 16 multi-player levels. It looks great and definitely is kid friendly. It’s game controls are easy to master but are not always so easy that it isn’t challenging from time to time. It’s a fun, educational game that I think kids will enjoy and parents won’t have any trouble giving their children.

Fun graphics for kids, fun friendsly sounds too
The user interface for ABC Galaxy is definitely a kid friendly experience. Lots of colors, big fat letters, and lots of graphics and sound effects. Plus the sound effects and narration is fun and definitely geared towards little ones. When the game the game first loads the title page shows the name of the game, a big red play buttons, configurations gear, parents button, and a little studycat icon. Each of these takes the user to different areas of the game. The play button is obvious, as is the configuration gear. Parents and studycat are for in game purchases. Parents can choose to buy the full version which adds even more levels or other apps from studycat’s library.
The levels themselves involve some kind of colorful planetary challenge with letters. The planets are all different colors and look very much like something any kid would love. The sounds are fun and a little on the annoying side to adults, but I imagine any child would love them. Imagine the way some adults talk to children in a very “slow and deliberately over the top, sugary vocal tone” and you’ll understand what I mean? Just say YAY after everything and you will also understand what I’m saying ha ha ha.
While do definitely think this is a fun interface for kids I’m not going to lie and say that it’s something I was really blow away by. It’s nice but it’s nothing that great. But it definitely should be fine for little kids who are just looking to learn some abc’s and have fun.
If you like slingshots you'll love this
As the heading says this game has a ton of levels involving sling shots. Users simply pull back on the control ball at the bottom of the screen and an arrow forms pointing in the opposite direction of their finger. Users can move from one side to the next to angle their aim as well. To shoot the ball simply lift up your finger after pulling back and whoosh away it goes. The great thing about the slingshot control is it makes things very simple and not too complicated for kids. This is a huge plus in my book because there is nothing more annoying that letting you little one play a game and having to help him with it all the time. After all isn’t the point of handing them the gadget to keep them occupied for a while. If you have to hover over them then you might as well just do something with them and keep the apps for yourself. The real challenge to the slingshot is timing of shots and aim. Other than that it’s easy and fun.
There are also levels where players get to throw things, hit things, and smash things. Players get a chance to enhance manual dexterity by flinging with their fingers or moving the ball around hitting items on the screen. It’s all very easy to pick up and understand for kids under 10.
ABC Galaxy is fun, easy for kids to pick up, family friendly, and highly entertaining. I recommend it to anyone with kids under 10 who want to learn or keep up with their ABC’s.
