I know it’s tough. The Legend of Zelda on Wii U has been delayed and pushed back into the NX launch in 2017, and we are all feeling a little empty without Link in our lives. Nintendo has a small solution that might help… maybe.
From today, you’ll be able to download The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on the Wii U Virtual Console. The first of Link’s Nintendo DS adventures will set players back $9.99, and it will probably lead into the inevitable re-release of Spirit Tracks in the coming weeks or months, depending on how long Nintendo wants divide up this Zelda drought.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has a mixed reception among fans. Some enjoy the touch controls, but detractors point towards the repetitive dungeons and constant backtracking towards to the central dungeon as its fall points. I’m not the biggest fan and would easily slip into another game of Minish Cap or Link to the Past before firing up this one.
To each his own, though. Check out Phantom Hourglass on the Wii U Virtual Console today.
