LG has been on an almost endless release cycle over the last few weeks and months with an abundance of devices being announced. Some of those have included the likes of the LG G Stylo and the LG Band Play. Of course, the biggest of these devices was their flagship device, the LG G4 which was unveiled back towards the end of April. Well, LG has today announced a new variant of the G4, in the form of the ‘LG G4 Beat’. According to LG, the G4 Beat is designed to offer much of the functionality of the G4, but at a much more affordable price point. For those who remember, LG released a similar variant for last year’s flagship in the form of the LG G3 Beat.
Back to today’s announcements and in terms of the specs, the LG G4 Beat comes equipped with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the G4 Beat is loaded with 1.5 GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor (clocking at 1.5 GHz). Moving to the camera side of things and the G4 Beat is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 5-megapixel front facing camera. For the Latin American variant, LG note that the rear camera is being bumped up to a 13-megapixel option with the same front facing camera on offer. Additional features include a 2,300 mAh removable battery, Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and 4G LTE support. The LG G4 Beat will come running on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box
For those interested, LG have announced that the G4 Beat will be available in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold colored variants. However, the G4 Beat is designed only for select markets. According to the information, the G4 Beat will first become available this month in select European and Latin American Regions. Namely, France, Germany and Brazil. Following which, LG have confirmed that a more global roll out will commence in due course and will include Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey. Unfortunately, no details on pricing were provided at the time of announcing.
