In a press release issued by LG earlier today, it appears the LG Optimus Vu is headed to the United States by the end of Q3. Based on this intel, the Optimus Vu will launch between now and the end of September. There is good reason to believe Verizon Wireless will be the first official provider of the 5 inch Optimus Vu, as a result of a previous FCC filing and an in-the-wild leak.
In terms of what we can expect from the LG Optimus Vu, it features a 4:3 aspect ratio 5 inch touch screen display, Android 4.0, 4G LTE connectivity, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear facing camera, 32GB of on board memory, and stylus input.
It is clear that LG is going to pin the Optimus Vu up against the Samsung Galaxy Note II, but does it really have a chance? LG is launching the Optimus Vu in America after it launched this past March in Korea. The Galaxy Note II is going to be announced by the end of August, so it will contain high-end hardware and possible Android 4.1 on board. In any event, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for further Optimus Vu developments, but at this point, expect it drop in September on Verizon.
