Early yesterday, we came across a mystery LG smartphone called the LG G3 Stylus. The handset was inadvertently leaked in a promotional video meant for the LG G3 Beat. Although there wasn’t enough mentioned about the smartphone in the video, it was plenty to get the internet buzzing with speculations. And now, media reports from Korea suggest that this is indeed a new device destined to arrive in September.
And as we speculated yesterday, it could sport a slightly downgraded hardware compared to the G3. From the promo video, it was noticed that it doesn’t have the Laser Auto Focus on the back and features a solitary LED flash instead of a dual LED arrangement as on the LG G3. The report also suggests that the battery capacity and the screen resolution could be toned down, although the display size is still said to be 5.5 inches. Perhaps LG will go with a 1080p panel this time and use a slightly smaller battery to make it a tad lighter as well.
However we won’t be surprised if LG slots in a 720p panel inside, which would make it a budget offering. There are still plenty of questions to be answered, but we hope to learn more about the LG G3 Stylus possibly at the IFA event early next month in Berlin.
