Following on from the LG G4 launch, LG appears to be prepping other G4-based handsets to cater to different sections of the market, and now the mid range LG G4 S model has leaked online.
We’ve previously heard talk of the LG G4 not being the company’s lead flagship device and it may have a more powerful counterpart coming in at the top of the range later. Things have, however, gone quiet on this front in recent months.
Instead, the LG G4 S has appeared courtesy of Russian source Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru. According to this leaked information, the handset features a 5.2in display panel with a 1080p resolution, a 1.5GHz octa-core processor and an 8MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and the LG G4’s laser autofocus.
Allegedly the bodywork and design is pretty much the same as the regular LG G4 but a bit smaller and we suspect it won’t have the same luxury leather back panel options, so you’ll probably just get the standard plastic finish.
Hi-Tech.Mail does include a picture set with the leak, although it does look pretty much just like a regular LG G4 including the distinctive curvature to the design, there’s no reference for sizing, so we don’t know if it’s just the normal model or specifically the smaller LG G4 S.
There’s currently no word on pricing or when we might expect to see the LG G4 S announced, but as usual we’ll keep an ear to the ground for further information and report it here as it arrives.
