Last week, LG trademarked the name G5 SE, which we assumed could be an upcoming smaller and lower-end G5 model. According to a new case leak, the G5 SE is real, but it wasn’t exactly what we thought it could be.
The LG G5 QuickCover cases appear to be compatible with both the G5 and the G5 SE, thanks to the compatibility logos at the top of the box. This pretty much confirms that the G5 SE is real, and that it will be the same size as its older sibling, the LG G5.
If the G5 SE is going to be another version of the G5 that won’t be smaller, we’re not sure as to what audience it will be intended for. All cutouts and dimensions must be the same if it fits the same cases as the G5, so expect nothing different when it comes to design.
LG has launched several variants of their main flagship smartphone in the past, and it seems as if LG will continue this trend with its new G5. Some names in the past included the world Stylo, Mini, and letters C and S after the name. If SE is to be the next variant type, Apple probably won’t be too happy considering that they launched the first ever phone ending with SE just a few weeks ago.
MobileFun was able to put together a Hands On video of the new QuickCover cases, which can be seen just below this post. We’ll continue to bring you all the leaks and rumors regarding this LG G5 SE as they appear.
