The long awaited Google LG Nexus 5 is almost here. Yesterday some e-tailers in U .K. and Belgium “accidentally” posted and then removed pre-order pages for the device, with November 1st availability. A bit later Canadian carrier Wind put up (and, of course, quickly removed) their own Nexus page , with full specs on their official site.
What all those leaks lead to – is the imminent launch of Android 4.4 KitKat and LG Nexus 5 within a week from now, possibly even today. We now also have almost official specs for the new Google flagship and can put a lot of rumors to rest.
Nexus 5 will come equipped with:
4.95” 1920×1080 Full HD 445ppi display with Gorilla Glass 3
2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU
2GB of RAM
8 megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization
The good news- is the camera. While it might lack in number of pixels/resolution, pixel count doesn’t mean much to the overall picture quality these days. Improved lenses, sensors, algorithms and OIS should finally allow you to take good casual pics in almost any conditions with Google Nexus device.
Another good news – is a wide international availability, all the leaks point to. Google has increased the Nexus price a bit to make it more attractive for LG to manufacture it in larger quantities, while LG also increased its overall production and distribution capabilities this year. So Nexus 5 worldwide rollout should start soon after the announcement, and, hopefully, we won’t have those terrible supply shortages and delays Nexus 4 experienced last year.
