After having been launched by MetroPCS not long ago, the LG L70 has now made its way to Verizon. That said, the carrier nicknamed Big Red isn’t selling it under that name, however, choosing instead to call it the LG Optimus Exceed 2.
This then could be seen as the successor to the Optimus Exceed from last year. Like the L70 sold elsewhere, the Optimus Exceed 2 comes with a 4.5-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, a VGA front camera, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8610), 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Thankfully for such a low-end device, the Optimus Exceed 2 runs Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the gate. That’s good, but don’t expect it to ever be updated to a newer version of the OS when that comes along.
Verizon is offering the LG Optimus Exceed 2 to prepaid customers, and it can be yours for just $79.99 – sans contract or long-term commitment with the carrier. That’s a great price point, even though the Exceed 2 clearly compromises in a few areas of its specs.
Still, if you’re interested in picking one up, you can do so already from Verizon’s website.
