The Optimus G2 has a fantastic make up according to reports. A 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor an Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB RAM. Above the hood is a fantastic rumored 5.5 inch full HD-1980X1080p display that makes for a stunning visual experience. The phone is expected to run Android 4.2.2 – JellyBean, the latest offering from Android. Since there is no confirmation or communication from LG, rumors continue to fly in tech circles. The Optimus G2 will feature an Octa core processor, called Odin, from electronics manufacturer LG. If this is true, the Optimus L2 will be one of the few smartphones that packs this kind of processing capability, second only to the Galaxy S4.
For the skeptics, it is possible for LG to integrate two kinds of chipsets in the Optimus 2 line offering users two different variants of the phone – One with the Qualcomm processor and one with Odin as with Samsung Galaxy S4 that currently has 2 versions – The ones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and Samsung Exynos Octa core chipset. In addition to the hardware capabilities of the phone, the software could offer users features like “Smart Pause” that pauses the video player when the user looks away.
The Optimus G2 from LG targets the high-end market and looks very promising, if the phone does indeed incorporate these features. Great competition to Apple, Sony and Samsung with the iPhone 5S, Galaxy 4 and Sony’s big numbers also going to be around in the market this year.
