Believe it or not, the LG Optimus G has only just gone on sale in the UK. The smartphone that’s also the basis for Google’s LG Nexus 4 has been out in the US for many months now, but its rollout has been limited to a few countries until January. That’s when LG started to gradually offer the Optimus G in more places.
In Europe, the rollout started about one month ago, and here we are today with the Optimus G now in stock in the UK, in SIM-free and unlocked form. If you want to buy one, Expansys is the retailer you should be heading to.
The price you’ll need to pay is £469.99, and it includes free shipping.
The LG Optimus G has been superseded by the Optimus G Pro in more ways than one, but on the other hand that comes with a positively gigantic screen. So the ‘vanilla’ Optimus G is still around in LG’s portfolio, catering to those who don’t want to go past the 5-inch mark.
The LG Optimus G has a 4.7-inch 768×1,280 HD IPS touchscreen, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and Full HD 1080p video recording, a 1.3 MP front camera, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage space, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,100 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
