LG and Prada have announced that they are to link up once again to bring a fashion focus to the smartphone market, with the LG Prada 3.0.
The first LG Prada phone was released in 2007 and it seems that fashionistas can't get enough of the phone – so much that the company released another version in 2008, the Prada II.
Three years and 12 fashion seasons later and LG and Prada have reunited to deliver the LG Prada 3.0.
While the idea of a fashion phone may fill many with dread, the original LG Prada was one of the first touchscreens to come to market and at the time it was seen as the biggest rival to the iPhone.
When it comes to the third iteration, hardly any details have been released – other than a teaser image which shows of some concept sketches.
Looking closely we can see the phone will definitely have a chassis, will have Prada written on it and there will be a camera on board.
Speaking about the LG Prada 3.0, Dr Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: "Our working relationship with Prada is unique in its longevity and success, something no other phone company and luxury brand have been able to replicate.
"Having successfully launched two Prada phones by LG, we look forward to collaborating further to develop premium handsets with a strong identity and the most sophisticated style."
In these austere times, it will be interesting to see how well the LG Prada 3.0 does – and whether it will be a phone that's puts style over substance.
