LG is planning to release its next G and V series smartphones earlier than usual, reveals The Investor. The V30 is rumored to launch in August this year, while the G7 should arrive in January 2018.
It’s believed that LG brought the launch dates forward to put it in a better position to compete with Samsung, which also started development of its next flagship, the Galaxy S9, ahead of schedule.
“Nothing has been decided on the launch schedule of the upcoming phones,” a company spokesperson said in a statement issued to The Investor in an attempt to keep the firm’s plans under wraps.
The G7 and V30 will feature an OLED display
In addition, the report states that the G7 and V30 will feature an OLED display, with the former sporting a Snapdragon 845 CPU and the latter a Snapdragon 836 CPU.
