The image, which was passed along by YouTuber Marques Brownlee, shows LG’s new Nexus in the hands of some unknown leaker. We only see the back of the device, though that may be enough to confirm several rumored features. It looks like the handset will feature a small camera hump, along with a rear flash and another photography sensor. There’s also a small metal ring just below the camera, which we assume houses the phone’s fingerprint reader.
The design seems pretty straightforward. Unfortunately it looks like the smaller Nexus phone will stick with plastic for its back panel, though it’s possible we could still see a ring of metal around the edges. Huawei’s rumored Nexus phablet is still expected to offer a full metal body along with a larger display.
Based on earlier leaks, we’re expecting the new Nexus 5 to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 3180mAh battery, a Snapdragon 620 chip, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, a 4-megapixel front-facing shooter, a fingerprint reader, wireless charging and USB-C with QuickCharge 2.0. The device could cost between $300 and $400.
Google probably won’t rollout the new Nexus lineup until later this year, probably sometime in October. Hopefully we’ll get an even better look LG’s new handset though, now that someone has finally gotten their hands on the device.
