When source code gets released, it is an exciting time. Whether it’s device specific or full Android code, source code getting released means that developers can keep on developing. Some kernel source has recently been released for the LGSU660. For T-Mobile LG G2x users, it could mean a lot as the LGSU660 is very similar to the LG G2x.
Essentially, the new source code helps the G2x to get fully functional Jelly Bean, as well as fix bugs on ICS. As XDA Senior Member wkpark notes in this post:
It seems like that this kernel support not only SU660 but also P990/P999
For G2x owners, this is great news. It means that their current AOSP offerings can get some much needed bug fixes and more stability. In many cases, AOSP offerings may have issues like camera, Bluetooth, or even video playback not working properly. Source releases such as this can drastically help fix the issues. As per the norm, LG has removed the proprietary drivers. So devs still have a lot of work ahead of them.
